LOL) Nam was promised by her dad that if she achieved rank 1 in school, he will be sending a ticket to US to study there. Nam on the other hand lives with her mom and little sister. He is the son of an ex football player who was not able to bring glory to their town because he could not kick the penalty goal (think soccer). Later we see him rescuing a cat from a mango tree only to land in front of Nam and offering her some mangoes. Shone is a helpful boy, giving way to a passing blind man. She has a crush on a boy named Shone who is 2 years their senior. She and her friends are going to a cafe, only Nam is not there to study but to see the boy of her dreams. In the background you hear Nam (the heroine) saying that he is the one who taught her A Little Thing Called Love.įlash back to 9 years ago, Nam was still in her first year of secondary school. I haven’t explored much of the other Thai movies and I wasn’t interested until my sister recommended I watch A Little Thing Called Love (sometimes called First Love). I don’t really watch Thai movies in the past and most of the movies I saw were the horror Thai movies (Shutter will always be a favorites) and Sports themed movies (think beautiful boxer). But because I am here in Thailand, I thought why not recommend a Thai movie. It takes a lot of effort to do these recommendations and it stresses me out sometimes so I don’t do it much. it isn't THAT bad.I haven’t recommended movies for so long. I just felt it was a little childish/unrealistic, but don't make that stop you from watching the film. I don't want to spoil the movie so i won't say why.
Luckily, in this movie, they make up for it by the end of the movie. As already stated by another reviewer, beauty is one of the themes in this film, and most probably know that, not only in thai media, but in most asian media, light skin is seen as beautiful. There are bad point's about this movie though. The movie is hilarious throughout and it's just so relatable, it makes you feel SO nostalgic about those days in primary/middle/high school days when we are all oh-so foolish.

They know how to do rom-coms to their best and purest form. I find thailand rom-coms in general to be very unique, and it's a good kind of unique. The plot isn't anything special or out of the blue, it follows the usual rom-com setting and process but there are scenes that are unique in themselves. This movie is a really great romantic comedy and it's really suited for those times when you just want to watch something quirky, fun, but still has those serious moments. I had never watched a thai movie before but my best friend (who's thai) was telling me how she had been rewatching it all weekend and that we had to watch it together. Rewatch Value 9.0 The first time i watched this movie was in grade 11.
